We’re moving!

Mess

Munchkin Land Designs is in the process of moving from Blogger to WordPress.  You may notice broken links or layout changes during this process; we ask for your patience while we settle into our new place.

We hope you’ll love the new space, and can’t wait to reveal all the new features!  Coming soon!

Exciting Times

Its been a while since we last chatted…  Its not for lack of interest, its just that life continues and between designing and raising four little ones, time gets away from me.  And then the next thing I know, I haven’t updated this space or the gallery in months.  That’s being remedied right now… Hop on over and take a look at some of the new designs that have been added to my gallery.

In other, exciting news… drumroll please… I’m going to have a second job starting December 1st!  Now, now, its not as dramatic as I’m making it sound, but I am very excited about the upcoming changes.

imageStarting on December 1st you’ll be able to find me as a second designer over at Creative Kristi.  A few of us have joined forces to offer blogging package deals from designing to social media management to branding to virtual assistance and more.  I’m honored that Kristi has brought me on board to work with her.

What does this mean for Munchkin Land Design?  Nothing.  There are no changes for the foreseeable future.  I will still be designing for clients through this site, and I’ll also be designing with Kristi’s clients.  I’ll be sure to keep y’all posted of any changes in the future, but for now, I’m looking forward to the adventures ahead!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season!  Thanks for checking in with me!

BOTW and Some Changes

Before we dive into this week’s blog highlight, I wanted to let y’all know about a couple of changes around here.  First of all, I FINALLY updated the gallery with all of the designs I’ve completed since January.  Click on over and check those out.  Secondly, I’ve listed the blog packages in a new format.  I’d love it if you checked it out and send me your thoughts.  Is it easy to understand?  Do you prefer this way, or the original format?

And lastly, I’ve made some changes to the Referral Rewards program.  And trust me, you want to check out these changes!  It became too cumbersome to keep track of Munchkin Land Designs credit, and I think this new format will be a lot easier.  It basically involves a cash reward, which I hope you’ll find appealing.  And yes, if you still have credit with Munchkin Land Designs, I will still honor it!

Now on to this week’s Blog of the Week.  I had a fun time working with her, and it was obvious from her order form that she was a lady with a sense of humor.  Please welcome MarlaJan, from Luck Fupus.

MarlaJan, Luck Fupus

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I had a blog a few years ago when I was first diagnosed with lupus, but lost interest after a few posts. I didn’t think there was anyone out there that would want to read about my struggles. I started the "Luck Fupus" blog in March of 2012 in the middle of a really bad lupus flare. I do have a few close friends that I could complain to/confide in regarding my disease, but blogging has certainly been a great release for me. Lupus is unfortunately a disease that doesn’t get a lot of publicity (except on House, where it was NEVER lupus!) and the general knowledge base is much lower than other diseases. I’m hoping my blog is a humor-filled way for everyone to learn about living with lupus.

What do you love most blogging?
Again, it’s been a great release for me. I’m not lupus, but it does consume a great amount of my life. I was afraid my friends were getting tired of hearing about it, or felt they always had to ask how I am feeling. I don’t necessarily want to talk to my family/friends about the awful GI side effects of my medications. But, through blogging, I’m able to get some of the stress out, while making jokes of my bouts with bloody diarrhea! Hey, I never said this was Pulitzer Prize winning writing!

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve discovered since you began blogging?
I’m shocked at the amount of people that I have been able to reach and in return have reached out to me in such a short period if time. Through Twitter, I have been able to put my blog out there to many in the lupus community. I have people I’ve never met telling me they look forward to my posts, that my suggestions have been helpful, they love how I am able to put humor in some of the most uncomfortable situations, and some have called me an inspiration. Does it get better than that?

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
While lupus is indeed a serious, life-altering disease, I don’t take myself too seriously. Although some might find my open and honest approach a bit much, for me, it’s how I’m able to maintain my sanity.

Getting Back in the Groove & Giveaway

Its been a while, people.  And I’m starting to get back into the groove again!  I’ve been updating like mad around this space of mine.  For instance…

  • I’ve added 2 new premade templates to my selection.  You can check those out here.  I really love the colors of both new designs.
  • I’ve updated both the gallery and the testimonials page.  (Side note.  Thank you for all of the nice, kind, and wonderful words you have for me and Munchkin Land Designs.  It means more than you know!)
  • I will be returning to the Blog of the Week feature next week, so stay tuned to meet some more fun bloggers!
  • I will be posting a schedule of the Twitter and/or Facebook contests later this month so you can know in advance when a contest is going to take place.

But for now, I have a “Getting Back in the Groove” giveaway for you!  It was pretty popular last spring, and I’m really excited to do it again!  It’s a "Win One, Give One” giveaway.
